Spanish Schools Activities

There is a lot more to learning a foreign language than just studying its grammar and vocabulary; the skill of speaking in a register that is appropriate to a given situation is also crucial. To improve your pragmatic knowledge of a language, studying its culture can greatly help you connect with those who speak it.

To help you gain a more in-depth understanding of the culture and customs in the Spanish speaking world, don Quijote offers a wide variety of courses, both theoretical and practical, to compliment your language learning. Cultural activities in Spanish such as our cinema club, wine tasting course, cultural classes focusing on famous people who have shaped the culture and workshops on the various characteristics of communication (writing, gestures, etc.), round out your knowledge of Spanish. Other fun compliments to your Spanish classes include various dance and music lessons; while in a new country, why not learn a new skill too!

To make sure you get the most out of your time abroad, don Quijote regularly arranges half-day, full day or weekend trips to explore more of the country you're studying in.

Also outside the classroom, we give you the opportunity to participate in "intercambios"; language exchanges with native Spanish speakers which allow you to put into practice what you haven learned, in a less formal setting.
