Our Spanish for Health Professionals Programme is specifically designed for medical students and professionals. The programme is geared towards doctors, nurses, chemists, public health or other healthcare professionals, students of these fields and anyone else who would like to combine their Spanish language programme with medical terminology and concepts.
Our Spanish for Health Professionals Programme is particularly interesting because it allows students to discover the cultural context for the medical Spanish they are learning and to become familiar with healthcare practices in Costa Rica, Ecuador or Mexico, where this programme is offered. The programme also includes a hands-on approach to learning with a shadowing program. Students will be able to shadow a doctor or nurse at a local hospital or clinic for 3 weeks. This allows them to use and hear the new language concepts and vocabulary they are learning in context while they gain further understanding for what the healthcare sector looks like in the Spanish speaking country where they have chosen to study.
Included in the Program:
- A 4-week Intensive Spanish Course (20 group lessons per week)
- 3 weeks of 5 private or semi-private classes per week focusing on medical terminology
- 3 weeks of doctor shadowing at a local hospital or clinic
- All course materials
- Cultural activities
Students are required to have a minimum Spanish proficiency level of B1 and a background in the healthcare sector (medicine, nursing, etc.).
