Learn Spanish in Monteverde, Costa Rica
The small town of Monteverde is considered a major ecotourism destination in Costa Rica. Ecotourism is a kind of tourism centered on exhibiting untouched parts of the world to the public in such a way that is neither damaging nor hurtful to its reputation. Compared to standard tourism, ecotourism is a relatively low-impact alternative. Its purposes include providing funds for ecological conservation and educating globetrotters. Monteverde is home to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve (over 26,000 acres of tropical rainforest visited by approximately 70,000 visitors per year). Our Spanish School in Monteverde is located in the cluster of homes and businesses known as Cerro Plano.
